Located in the heart of campus, the soaring Tanimura & Antle Memorial Library facility will rapidly become the heart of the school– and a major ventricle for the community, as it’s open to the public. And they don’t make many ventricles with three-story glass atriums. (Praying for no more delays in opening can’t hurt.)

Eight months ago NPS negotiated with Dartmouth to take over their digital library, I3P. Now some 6,700 items from Dartmouth have been incorporated into the Homeland Security Digital Library at NPS, making theirs a world-class resource.

So the students can’t use the Community Justice Center yet. But they can help plan how the legal libraries, mock courtrooms and arbitration rooms will come into being (while syncing with LEED standards for sustainability).

The Peace Corps International Masters program is about as cool as learning gets: two semesters of master’s coursework (in business, linguistics and international policy), two years plus of Peace Corps, then a partial-scholarship final semester and… a degree.

In a world where the words “green” and “sustainability” are rivaling the popularity of “a” and “the,” choosing a green career option is smart. Hartnell recently broke ground on its Center for Sustainable Construction, where students can learn about what it takes to build green. They’ll learn about managing a construction team, choosing the most environmentally friendly options and what the future has in store for the growing field.
