Monterey Live promoter to move shows from Ol' Factory

After a neighbor complained during Friday night's show at Ol' Factory Cafe, Monterey Live's promoter says the Sand City venue isn't cut out for loud, live concerts.

During the set of metal band Pariah Faction, a neighbor complained about the noise, says Brian Conway, who directed marketing and promotion at now-closed Monterey Live. Monterey Live moved Your Music Olympicks (Battle of the Bands) shows to Ol' Factory after the popular venue abruptly shut down June 1.

"We are just not going to be able to do shows like that [at Ol' Factory]" says Conway.  "It's not going to be the new Monterey Live by any means.”

Conway is now looking for a different venue (once again) for upcoming shows, including Truth and Salvage Co.'s gig on June 17. Follow Monterey's ever-changing music at www.montereycountyweekly.com.
