Description

Sound description: Unique Monterey duo consists of David Kempton on keyboards and Dino Vera on drums and vocals. While they may only be a pair, they sound like a sextet. With a modern day synthesizer, which produces sounds similar to Herbie Hancock’s neo-funk-jazz LP The Headhunters, Kempton could emulate any instrument or instruments he wants with the push of his finger. The pair has played Newport, Paris and the Monterey Jazz and Blues Festivals but still have time to play three nights per weeks at the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Influences: Herbie Hancock, Fats Domino, Lou Rawls

Similar to: Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Jimmy Reed
