Pharmaca

570 Munras Ave., #10, Monterey (831) 333-0751, pharmaca.com

“I can handle it!” was the funny catchphrase of a hyped-up “Drugs R Us” pharmacist played by comedian Mark Blankfield on the short-lived Fridays on ABC in the early 1980s. Clearly a copycat of Saturday Night Live, the show featured regulars Larry David and Michael Richards, who both went on to success with Seinfeld. They’re not playing for laughs at Pharmaca, but they can handle it when it comes to special medicine requests. The pharmacists work with physicians to create just the right formulas and strengths to meet patients’ needs. And on this side of the counter, customers will find a wide array of natural and homeopathic remedies, supplements and natural beauty products.
