As of this month, three of the area’s seasonal farmers markets are back online.
In fact, the Carmel Barnyard market starts at 9am today (May 3) and Del Monte Shopping Center's starts Sunday, May 8.
Natividad Hospital's is also back on in May; the Alisal farmers markets starts in June.
Paired with a Carmel Valley market move to Sunday, that makes area produce as accessible as ever—except in Greenfield, where despite the amount of ag fields, the market hasn't drawn enough vendors to make it worth while.
Here’s a look at the rundown, double checked by Weekly contributor Ivan Garcia, who shares his five favorite prepped-food items from across all the various markets with a piece out this Thursday (May 5).
