It's not a bad combination to have: Indian flavors and fresh California ingredients.

That's what chef/owner Bhupender “BD” Singh is banking on.

He grew up fascinated by all the vivid foods of his native New Delhi and the international flavors its world capital status summoned.

He trained in French and Italian cuisine.

He studied in award-winning Indian kitchens.

He formerly co-owned Ambrosia Indian Bistro in downtown Monterey, which coincidentally has a new sister spot on Cannery Row.

Now he's leaning upscale with Aabha Indian Cuisine in the former Bahama Billy’s on the lower level of the Barnyard Carmel.

Hours run 11:30am-2:30pm for the lunch buffet ($12.95), 2:30-4:30pm for happy hour with six draft beers and house wines for $5 and $4, respectively, and 5-9pm daily for dinner.
