Shoobies

Guitarist and singer Jacob Ellzey wanted to play more high energy rock and roll after the now-disbanded garage rockers The Pipsqueaks stopped playing shows, so with the help of bassist Alex Vareljian and drummer Evan Hildebrand, Shoobies became another garage rock trio.

Shoobies, named from the late-90ss cartoon Rocket Power, is influenced by bands like The Sonics, Tortured Grape, Thee Oh Sees, and Black Lips. The band recorded a handful of original songs on an old four-track tape machine and been playing shows around Monterey and Santa Cruz.
