True to form Marina's own dance studio, brings in an eclectic mix of choreography. This time around in the spring performance, they draw from children's literature, fairytales and heck, why not Polynesia too. The program includes performances like The World of Beatrix Potter, which debuted in Spring of 2015. Cue the cute animal costumes, and the choreography follows one isolated girl's imagination as she befriends a group of bunnies and other make-believe characters. SpectorDance also takes on the "The Christening," From the 1890 ballet Sleeping Beauty. Taken from one of the first scenes of the ballet, audience members follow dancers as the transform into a royal court and lively fairies. The program also folds in  bits and pieces from across genres like jazz and contemporary. And it invites special guest choreography from Na Haumana who performs "Tiare Tahiti," a piece of life from the island of Tahiti. Evening performances happen at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, with matinees at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. [MA]
