The series of events that make Car Week includes some dizzyingly expensive ticket prices. Attending Concours d'Elegance will run you $450; tickets for The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering typically cost $600. One of the best free events of the annual car extravaganza was about to get canceled when the city of Monterey decided to discontinue Exotics on Cannery Row. (Last year, the event had inspired street racing, burnouts and general lawlessness.) But at the last minute, Seaside stepped up to host the event on Obama Way, a.k.a., Broadway Avenue. This means that everyone, regardless of means, will get to participate in the celebration of automotive excellence. The 400 cars on display will include Paganis, Koenigseggs, Rimacs and McLarens as well as automobiles with household names like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. [AS]
