There will be hard-to-count amounts of horsepower, 200 different posh vehicles, several miles of 17-Mile Drive and a number of Shelby Cobras in play, along with the spirit of one late great Carroll Shelby himself. But the most compelling number for the silver anniversary of the Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally is this: $300,000 raised to date for local youth and other city projects. A few hours of display in downtown (noon-4pm) are followed by a coastal drive (5pm start) and a barbecue dinner in Chautauqua Hall (6:15pm) with awards and a raffle. Time to roll. [MCA]
