Just the words U.S. Open at Pebble Beach should say all you need to know. Jack in 1972. Tom Watson in 1982. Tiger Woods in 2000. Tiger is back. So is Phil. And Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson. Brooks Koepka, Rickie Fowler—the 156 best professional and amateur golfers in the world on the nation's most iconic course, all vying to etch their names in that big silver trophy. Well...they won't be doing the etching, but you get the point. Phil Mickelson is the last to win a PGA event at Pebble Beach, taking the Pro-Am crown for the fifth time earlier this year. Viktor Hovland is the last to win a USGA event here, capturing the U.S. Amateur last year. Soak it all in—if you can. Weekend tickets are sold out, but there are still a few for Thursday and Friday rounds. And those count, too. [DF]
