Venoco provided Monterey County planners with a list of potential components of a fracking fluid to be employed in the Monterey Shale formation. Although according to this document, "just like snowflakes, no two wells drilled are exactly the same," meaning that composition could differ based on precise geologic conditions, this document is to be used for purposes of environmental review.
