Moss Landing’s Lily Dayton brings a background in zoology and biology to enrich her writing and poetry (one anthology is subtitled Women Who Work in the Wild). She publishes in literary magazines, has taught high school and is currently working on an environmental education program for the state of California. Vito Victor grew up in the Bronx, but attended Reed College in Oregon (miles away, in all respects). He’s published poems in journals like Sparrow and Blue Unicorn. The Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium and the National Writers Union, Chapter 7 (not to be confused with the striking Writer’s Guild, although there is solidarity) brings them to the poetry hotspot of East Village Coffee Lounge this Tuesday. [WR]

7pm. East Village Coffee Lounge, 498 Washington St., $5. 373-5601 or 684-0854 or eastvillagecoffeelounge.com..
