TYT, the local Bay area band is composed of an eclectic group of performers, ranging from manager/vocalist Keith Hames to saxophone aficionado Garry Jones, to lead vocalist Yvette Pylant, an experienced songwriter who won R&B Grand Prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Awards in 2002, which were judged by Wyclef Jean, Carlos Santana, and Elton John among others. Steve Kirby on lead guitar, Akil Wemusa bass/producer, Ricky Stewart on drums, lead vocalist Ginger Maghoney, Prince Damons and Steve Martin on keyboard, and David Barber round out the cast. The band’s range of music is equally varied, embracing everything with a beat-from funk, jazz, and soul, to some of today’s popular covers-including Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” No Doubt’s “Hella Good”, and Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” Come prepared to dance to the band whose motto reads “we’re not here to entertain you; we’re here to party with you.”
9pm. Sly McFly's, 700-A Cannery Row, 372-3225. .
