Join Fernwood in closing out 2007 with a music show that swings from rustic to rockin’ to dancey. Levi Strom of Big Sur does oldtime country music with lush chords and twangy slide guitar flourishes; he sounds like he’s trying to stave off the night around a campfire. Monterey’s MOTV (Mouth of the Valley, in case you were wondering) is a brand new outfit that does fuzzy-amped rock with some surprising hooks that may remind you of emotionally wrought 80s hits; it’s like a garage band aspiring to arena rock. They will be joined by an as-yet-undetermined band (like a wrapped present, eh?) and a DJ spinning ‘70s tunes. [WR]
