A wellspring of up to 20 talented acts takes center stage at the Hyatt Regency’s Monterey Grand Ballroom to compete for prize money for their chosen charity. Singing figures heavily (thanks, American Idol) in a line-up that features child singers belting it out for Meals on Wheels and the American Cancer Society, a 14-year old crooning for Rising International’s efforts to help battered and abused women, a jazz combo swinging for the Monterey Jazz Festival, an opera singer hitting the high notes for the SPCA, and so on. The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and Monterey County Bank brings back this competitive and eclectic night of talent and charity with a no host bar, complimentary wine and buffet of heavy hors d’ oeuvres.
