He's a 64-year-old blues singer and much cooler than Britney Spears. In 2006, the Monterey Blues Festival gave this singer the Mobay “Artist of the Year” award. In 1967, after Jimi Hendrix played at the Monterey Pop Festival, he came to a club where Tucker played six-nights a week. Hendrix and Tucker's band performed together to end the evening. They'd never played with each other before, but it was 12-bar blues. So, they improvised. Hendrix, a left-handed guitar player borrowed someone else's right-handed guitar and played it upside down. Needless to say, Tucker has played a gig or two. James Brown and Buddy Guy are just a few of some other greats he's performed with.[PW]
