Pacific Grove's Victorian heritage is celebrated in a weekend brimming with more than 70 bands on four stages, an elaborate parade, dance competitions, some 230 arts, crafts and food vendors, and more. For the family-friendly über-event, now in its 51st year, Sustainable Pacific Grove is planting 845 trees in and around PG in order to offset emissions. The Green Spot, Sustainable PG's resource center, will have its official opening as a local place for information regarding green building, renewable energy and recycling. But as impressive as all the numbers and endless sub-events might be, this would be the epitome of a weekend where the sum energy is greater than the parts.
