"For those of you who don't know me, I am a Palestinian-Muslim virgin with cerebral palsy from New Jersey." So goes a typical greeting from Maysoon Zayid, comedian and co-founder of the New York Arab American Comedy Festival. She lands in Monterey tonight as part of a five-city tour with openers Maria Shehata from Comedy Central's "The Watch List" and local crack-up Samy Abdoun. DJ Ahmed helps warm it up early; Zayid sets the mic on fire late with a one-woman show that helps reveal how Adam Sandler recruited her for the upcoming Don't Mess with Zohan, a flick about a Mossad agent faking his death to go to New York and become a hair dresser. She is also featured in the upcoming PBS special documentary film, Stand Up: Muslim American Comics Come of Age.
