Monterey's Kappa Gamma Omega, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (100 years old this year), and the 50th Annual Ebony Fashion Fair bring to the sumptuous stage of Golden State Theatre "Glam Odyssey," a fashion show of haute couture hot off the runways of Milan, Paris, New York and London. The affair showcases five decades of fashion by top designers, modeled by 13 Ebony models, in what's proclaimed as "the world's largest traveling fashion show." Among the dozens of designers represented are Bill Blass, Issey Miyake, Gothic Jeans, Nina Ricci, (the always dapper) Steve Harvey, Vivienne Westwood, Erika & Monika Simmons, Christian Dior, and so on. Ticket price includes subscription to Ebony or JET, chances to win a trip, car and (no good fashion show should be without it) shwag. Funds also go to a scholarship fund. Now that's hot. [WR]
