Last year, a crack team of birdwatchers spotted a very impressive 250 species during Ventana Wildlife Society's 24-hour Birdathon. This year, strap on your binoculars and try to top that record and/or take one of the special tours around Monterey County's most exhilarating wild places with expert local guides. Some of the trips being offered are a pelagic boat tour in the Monterey Bay and a half day walk through Pinnacles National Monument, where attendees will hopefully be able to spot a condor.
