The Monterey Chamber of Commerce corrals a formidable roster of local business, academic, artistic and nonprofit leaders in the sustainable movement to promote the "greening" of the county in theory and in practice. Business people, speakers, educational sessions, sponsors and exhibitors all expound on their own contributions--and suggest how others can contribute--to the sustainable economy. Opening speakers include associate professor at CSUMB Pat Tinsley McGill, Ph.D., executive director of Big Sur Land Trust Bill Leahy, and co-founder of Sutainable Monterey County and radio talk show host Deborah Lindsay. Sample food and beverage and a roster of films--including an entry by the up-and-coming Sea Studios of Monterey--drive home the message that human behavior can and must change to ensure the health of human life. This event seeks carbon-neutral status by encouraging carpooling, biking and walking. [WR]
