Jose's Lounge Underground continues its impressive parade of national indie rock acts with San Francisco's The Bruises and The New Centuries along with the El Paso, Texas five piece The Royalty. Thankfully, two of tonight's acts counteract the usually male heavy indie rock scene with female members: The Royalty's vocals are handled by Nicole Smith, while The Bruises' primary players are vocalists/guitarists Aja Blue and Jen Black. Though The New Centuries have no female members, the quartet has a driving indie rock sound that recalls Wolf Parade. [ST]
