This year, the Monterey Bay Blues Festival's Battle of the Blues Bands is doing things differently. The competition, which features blues bands vying for a spot on the main stage at the prestigious festival, will be held in the Monterey Room at the Monterey Fairgrounds, and for the first time ever will be judged by ticket holders rather than a panel of celebrity judges. Also, there will be a performance by the Monterey Blues Jam Band led by Lee Durley. (See Music story.) [ST]
