After days of eating fruitcake and answering questions from batty relatives over the holidays, it can feel good to get out and hear some aggressive live music. Tonight, the Salinas trio Hate for State will fulfill that desire by delivering some classic sounding punk numbers. Their "The Road Least Traveled" recalls Bad religion, while "Take Control" delivers a self help message with machine gun drumming and punk metal riffs. [ST]
