The Seaside Cultural Arts Group sponsors this 28th annual celebration of Black History month, a timely tradition in a town that is rapidly changing. This year's program begins with opening ceremonies, with city officials in attendance. Then the CSUMB choir, under the direction of Paulette Gissendanner, performs, followed by poetry from New Hope Baptist Church kids. Refreshments are served at intermission, then the New Hope Baptist Church male choir closes out the evening with singing. The community is invited to this event free of charge, one of a number of Black History month celebrations occurring in the county in February. [WR]
7-9pm. Oldemeyer Center, 986 Hilby St. , Seaside. Free. 394-9047 or 899-6805.
