A video documenting the making of Lauren Shera’s 2005 album, A Million Light Years Long, appeared on KQED in San Francisco. Shera has played her melodic, finger-picking folk stylings at such festivals as South by Southwest. Local audiences can see her yet again as she returns to Monterey Live tonight. After releasing two studio albums and a soon-to-be released live album, the New York native now resides in Monterey and performs consistently up and down the Central Coast. Her acoustic guitar speaks folk, but her words and soft voice shout soul. Fellow folk rocker Reed KD and Johanna Lefever open the show. [NC]
