Help beat the record-breaking 80,000 checklists submitted in 2007 by joining this year's 11th annual bird count, sponsored nationally by the Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Report sightings anywhere, including neighborhoods and backyards and contribute to tracking the rise, decline and spread of common, uncommon, rare and introduced species. All levels of expertise are encouraged to participate and submit findings to the website which also has helpful identification tips. Join the digital and video contests on both sightings and bird-watchers to compete for bird-related prizes. [SL]
