The Pacific Grove Art Center brings printmaking artists in three exhibits that show off an impressive range of work that offers a visual tour of some of the over 200 printmaking methods: some of the exhibiting artists use the same printmaking methods that Rembrandt used, some use digital technology. The California Society of Printmakers, a prestigious group founded in 1912, are the second oldest print-making society in the United States. Members are exhibiting their work as part of the "Personal Impressions" exhibit. The "Triad Cross-Pollination" exhibit consists of mixed media monotypes and solar etchings by Bay Area printmakers Linda Fillhardt, Valerie Magee and Mercy Smullen. "Captured Views" woodcuts by Ilse Buchert Nesbitt and poems by Kristina Baer are taken from a book they collaborated on called "Captured Views: Impressions of 10 Gardens." These exhibits run until April 3. [WR]
