Thom Pain (based on nothing) and "The Thief of Tears" at Carl Cherry

As part of the Carl Cherry Center's month-long 60th anniversary, monologues by Will Eno and Jeffrey Hatcher are presented in the "Blacklisted" program. Hatcher's darkly comedic "The Thief of Tears," excerpted from his play Three Viewings, introduces us to a woman who steals jewelry from corpses in funeral parlors. Eno's Thom Pain (based on nothing) cajoles and toys with the audience while examining and searching for meaning. The non-linear play won the Edinburgh Festival's First Fringe Award and was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer in Drama. [WR]
