This uproarious, sacrilegious, award-winning comedy takes center stage at the Outdoor Forest Theater. The number six of the AFI's "100 Years...100 Laughs" list, Blazing Saddles is a screwball comedy at heart, with Mel Brooks, Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder (co-written by Richard Pryor) teaming up to mock every stereotype fathomable. The comedic tour-de-force follows the trials of the new (and black) sheriff in a frontier town as he fights against the townspeople's prejudice and a nefarious gang. Attendees are encouraged to pack their own picnics to compliment the film. Whiskey and beans, perhaps?
8:30/dusk. Outdoor Forest Theater, Santa Rita and Mountain View, Carmel. $6. 626-1681.
