But tonight, Bay Area jazz vocalist Kim Nalley, known for her multi-octave range, sashays into the Kelp Forest and Otter Bay exhibits equipped with a voice known to fill a room with elegance and nostalgia. Her historiographical concert "She Put a Spell on Me: A Tribe to Nina Simone" was recently released as a CD and shortlisted for a Grammy. Nalley is joined by Ed Reed, a rich baritone singer whose debute CD of love ballads was recorded when he was nearly 80 years old. Spencer Day rounds out the performances with a blend of jazz, folk, and contemporary tunes sung in a soft baritone. Participants choose between a music-only and a music with dinner option, all proceeds benefiting education programs at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. [KC]
