Jose's Underground Lounge continues its mission of showcasing hot and talented bands with these two hard-working acts from Spokane, Wash., who touring the West Coast. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Matthew Winters has been described as having "more balls than a bowling alley," which helps to describe his rough-hewn but stylish combo of alternative, folk, punk and other influences. The Let Up Band calls their sound "a group orgy of [their] parents' record collections"; the music comes out as tasty, original rock n' roll. The show promoter is also lining up a surprise local band for those who may want to close the place down and be late for work. [RC]
