Here are some interesting facts about the storied career of folk-rock guitarist and singer Jesse Colin Young, former lead singer of the iconic 60's band The Youngbloods: he appeared in the movie Forrest Gump, played with ex-Led Zeppelin front man Robert Plant and has recorded some 20 albums. The Youngbloods were famous for their huge hit "Get Together" and Young has penned many hits of his own including the Vietnam soldier's anthem "Darkness, Darkness" and "Sunlight." This Sunday evening Young graces the stage of the beautifully remodeled Fox Theater with his sweet voice and artful playing that helped define folk-rock music. [RC]
