The National Center celebrates its 10th year of existence by enacting a free Community Day for county residents in an open-house-like event that involves children's reading circles, two ongoing art shows, access to the Steinbeck and Rabobank museum spaces, professional storyteller Megumi telling Japanese children's stories, a bookmaking session, talk and book-signing with Betty Grant Henshaw, author of Children of the Dust: An Okie Family Story. And cupcakes.
