Called "the greatest songwriter on the planet" by none other than Sir Elton John, Rufus Wainwright seemed destined for a big career in the music industry. Son of songwriters Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, Rufus burst onto the scene with his 1998 self-titled debut, which helped him recieve a "Best New Artist" of the year nod from Rolling Stone Magazine that year. His latest accomplishment is a tribute to Judy Garland titled Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall. [ST]
