Sophia Coppola, daughter of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, proved that great filmmaking skills might be a genetic trait passed down from family members with her films Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette. Now, Alison Eastwood, daughter of multiple Oscar award winning director and actor Clint Eastwood, hopes to prove her natural ability as a filmmaker with her directorial debut Rails & Ties. The feature stars powerhouses Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden as a couple forced to deal with the consequences of a tragic train accident. Following the screening, there will be a reception with Eastwood at the nearby restaurant Melange, which is located at 542 Lighthouse Ave. in Pacific Grove. [ST]
