Food Network's celebrity chef Alton Brown dives into the kelp forest exhibit (1pm) and signs copies of his new book Feasting on Asphalt: The River Run (11:40am and 2pm); culinary booths throughout the Aquarium dole out info on sustainable food and wine (10am-4pm); cooking demonstrations by Joel Chenet; wild-caught Alaskan salmon samples; KGO-AM's "Dining Around with Gene Burns" interviews with celebrity chefs (10am-1pm). See Aquarium Hot Pick.
10am-4pm. Monterey Bay Aquarium, 886 Cannery Row, Monterey. $25/adults; $23/seniors (over 65), full-time college students; $16/children 3-12, disabled. 648-4888. http://www.mbayaq.org/.
