Ed Ricketts Birthday tours take place every hour on the hour at Pacific Biological Laboratories, otherwise known as (the real) "Doc's Lab". Rickett's, who worked at the laboratory, is the model for the character "Doc" in John Steinbeck's famous novel, Cannery Row, and the Lab is open to the public rarely. Cameras are recommended and refreshments are served.
