The Grammy Award-winning all-male vocal ensemble Chanticleer tethers up at the three Monterey County missions as part of their El Camino Real: Chanticleer Travels the Mission Road tour. Their name is derived from the "clear singing" rooster from Chaucer's Canturbury Tales, and they earn their name, as evidenced by rave reviews. The group reprises musical treasures from the mid-18th to early 19th-centuries that were once sung in California's historic missions. Following the tradition that these missions were established to be a one-day's horse ride apart, the ensemble travels (by motor vehicle this time, presumably) to the Carmel Mission (3080 Rio Rd.) for Friday's performance, to the Soledad Mission (36641 Fort Romie Rd.) on Saturday and to San Juan Bautista's Mission (406 Second St.) on Sunday.
