For their latest endeavor, PGAC fills their walls with new works by three intruiging artists and a sprawling miniature show. Marilee Childs trains her 40 years of art experience on the bugs, birds, plants and animals of the Peninsula and Big Sur with vivid, intricate color. David Hohmann channels '60s Saturday morning cartoons, underground comics and rock posters into bold and detailed works of psychedelic watercolors and pen and ink. Big Sur's Dan Cronin, world-traveled and widely shown, merges painting and sculpture onto the canvas in abstract and conceptual works. Dozens of artists contribute miniature artworks for PGAC's annual "Tiny Treasures" fundraiser. Al Rio plays original piano compositions for the tonight's heady opening reception. Till July 10. [WR]
7-9pm. Pacific Grove Art Center, 568 Lighthouse Ave., Pacific Grove. Free to attend. 375-2208. http://www.pgartcenter.org.
