Angel Romero and Monterey Symphony at Sherwood Hall

Born in Malaga, Spain, guitarist Angel Romero has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic and other symphonies across Zurich, Madrid, New York, London and elsewhere. He was knighted and awarded the Grand Cross of Isabel la Catolica, the highest Spanish honor. This past March, Romero's performance with the Monterey Symphony broke single-ticket sales records. This time, he teams up with longtime friend conductor Max Bragado-Darman to perform Joaquin Rodrigo's Fantasia para un gentilhombre; Ibert's Divertissement and Bizet's Symphony in C major are also on the program. The concert moves to Sunset Center Sunday and Monday. [WR]
