After playing lead guitar in a Cleveland rock band for several years, Pete George tried his hand at comedy—lucky us. After touring, playing 6,000 gigs including The Improv and The Funny Bone, he brings his road-tested set of to Monterey. Here’s a sample, talking about high school learning disability classes: “We played sports. Like darts. I was the catcher.” The jokes in his manic show come fast and furious, delivered with impeccable timing and high energy. He often incorporates his electric guitar playing, doing funny riffs on ‘80s rock songs with virtuoso skill in both the music and the comedy. Local funnyman Jim Summers, an ex-prison guard, opens.
