Carlos Mencia was going off about something—then the line went dead. I called him back twice without success. I checked with the Weekly office manager to see if he had called back; he hadn't. I called again and bizarrely, the ringing evaporated and I was clicked back onto a live line. At least two minutes had disappeared—but Mencia was still roling.
