The Windows to the World film symposium aims to educate members of the DLI, NPS and MIIS communities with a series of documentaries that tell stories from across the globe. Today's film at Golden State, Iron Ladies of Liberia, is the only one open to the public, but it's a momentous one. It follows the first freely elected female head of an African state, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, and her mostly female administration ("Iron Ladies") as they try to rehabilitate their civil war-torn country. Dr. Antoinette Sayeh, Sirleaf's minister of finance, says the occasion is "our biggest opportunity to change Liberia." The film's executive producer, Jonathan Stack, and others will speak before the free screening. [WR]
