Assemble the baguettes and berets: Some old-fashioned French-style drama hits Seca this weekend as the GT cars of the American Le Mans Series, patterned after the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, swoops through the dusk—short of taking a trip to France, this would be the best way to see the high-speed, high-tech Le Mans Prototypes from Audi, Porsche, Mazda, Acura, Dodge and Ford. The feature event, a four hour endurance race on Saturday that slips from the late afternoon into the evening, pits those sleek prototypes against production-based GT cars from Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari and Panoz—on the same track. Meanwhile, race fans can anticipate all the off-track action they have come to expect from raceway events, and then some: Playboy Playmates are scheduled to make several appearances Saturday and Sunday.
