John Farmanesh-Bocca, with his Not Man Apart (Physical Theatre Ensemble), world premiered his contemporary dance piece of Shakespeare's play, Pericles Redux, at Sunset Center this past summer. Then they took the show to Scotland for the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where their play Wish I Had a Sylvia Plath cleaned house, winning the festival's top honors. Of Pericles Redux's reception over there, TheScotsman.com writes: "...don't be surprised to find yourself laughing and crying at the same time." It generated enough heat that calls for another Monterey County performance spurred tonight's repeat performance at Sunset Center. If you missed it the first time, here's a redo of Redux. [WR]
