The volume gets increased for the deceased with the world premiere of Imperial Silence, an ambitious multia media trip down to the dark river of death to dig up the taboos sprouting around it, armed with simply a spade made from Day of the Dead-style satire. There's Mexican folk dance and mariachi music that helps make it happen—but there's also dark-humored animation, a live DJ, stage actors, and elements of hip-hop, bossa nova and blues. Mariachi ensemble Los Cuatro Vientos, director-librettist John Leaños and composer Cristóbal Martinez raise the Dead.
7:30pm. CSUMB World Theater, Sixth Ave, Seaside. Free; $2 parking. 582-4850. http://worldtheater.csumb.edu/site/x3400.xml.
