Passport to Cherry’s was just a warm up compared to one of the biggest “oldies” parties of the year, Cherry’s Jubilee. Taking place Thursday through Sunday, classic and motorcycles enhance the Peninsula's most iconic locales. During the Hot Laps, which raised $14,000 for Salinas Valley Memorial Foundation last year, would-be race car drivers can ride shotgun in a Porsche while a pro speeds through the twists and turns of the Laguna Seca track 9-11:30am and 2-4:30pm Saturday. Sunday morning, also at Laguna Seca, enjoy a unique pancake breakfast 7-10am Sun: rows of pancakes are cooked on a griddle attached to the back of a flatbed truck and then tossed to the hungry waiting below. Festa Italia, located in the Custom House Plaza, offers up the finest of the Italian culture with food, drinks and dancing, from noon-9pm Friday. At the heart of Cherry’s Jubilee--waxed up classic cars, smokin’ hot rods and a crazy variety of motorcycles--cruise around town throughout the weekend. Show n’ Shines take place each day at the Waterfront Wharf parking lot (9am-9pm Thu), Alvarado Street (8am-7pm Fri), Cannery Row (4-10pm Sat) and Laguna Seca (7am-4pm Sat and 8am-3pm Sun).
