Award-winning filmmakers Terri DeBono and Steve Rosen (Beyond Barbed Wire) weigh in on the devastation of sex abuse with Boyhood Shardows: "I Swore I'd Never Tell," a personal story about a teen named Glenn. Once a "golden boy," Glenn self-destructs in the wake of childhood sexual abuse by a predator. The Monterey Rape Crisis Center's Men's Group helped germinate the idea for the film, and many Monterey figures--Deputy D.A. Ann Hill, therapist Stephen Braveman--are featured prominently throughout. Film composer Laura Dare performs, a dessert reception with the filmmakers and cast follows, with proceeds benefitting MCRCC's Child Abuse Prevention Education Program. (See COVER story.) [WR]
